It's a special Sunday Supplement this week as Emily and Alex are taking it and telling you all about the work they have carried out as Doctors in Africa.
much better than listening to me!
So make sure you are all there to support them and to hear about their work.
Sadly i will not be able to be there as I am in Nottingham for my pastoral period weekend.........please pray for all the students and tutors as they try and discern God's call for them and their Ministry but also as they try to learn more about their faith.
Please also pray for Emily and Alex that God will bless the message they have for you all.
we need everyone there on thursday at 7.30pm when Mark Tucker tells us about the effect making the Congregational Federation our Trustees will have on us as a Church.WE need everyone there as this could have far reaching effects for us.
So please make the effort to come.
the puppet workshop was terrific!about 40 people from age 9 upwards learnt how to use puppets properly.Great ideas for ministry. If you get the chance to go to one do.
WE have a visiting preacher from Christians against poverty coming to talk to us tomorrow morning so i hope you will all be there. It is an issue that is going to affect more and more people over the coming weeks and months and we all need to be aware.it will be great to welcome the folks from St.Mary's too.
I hope you are coming to the Church meeting tonight,it is open to all and we hope to discuss future strategy for youth and for other areas of church work tonight ,so we need you there!David is coming all the way from Norfolk to be with us .
The Holy Spirit will also be there but it needs a few folk to talk to!!
i hope to see you there!
If you can't be there then pray for us during the time of the meeting! That we discern what the future is by God's Grace.
i am sure you will all be happy to know that the buzzy buzzy bees are now in a new home near my village of Great Gransden. They swarmed on Sunday and as the original beekeeper had not done his stuff, i arranged for someone from my village to come and take them. They are now on a farm happily pollinating away!it was a matter of luck as i had tried various beekeepers to no avail but this chap happened to be at the Garden Club annual bash with me!So Thank you Charles!
Those of you who have not yet come to a folk night don't know what you are missing!we had everything from backpackers guitars to harps to kazoos to drums,we had a poem,we had terrific singing and we waved our flags and made a noise for her Majesty! We all left feeling really uplifted and having had a thoroughly enjoyable time and all for £1.
the musicians and singers we are enjoying come from far and wide,it is a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we all enjoy each others attempst whether good or not so good.Wrong notes or forgotten words encouraged!not poopooed!
So come and join us on the first Saturday of the month at 7.30pm for 8pm
No folk night in August but we will be back in September.
What an amazing weekend of celebrations and outpouring of gratitude for our very gracious Queen.
What a shame that Prince Phillip was taken poorly and missed so much of it.I can imagine how cross and frustrated he feels as he will feel he has let her down.Of course that isn't the case his body decided to give him a reminder of his advancing years.
Frankly I have no idea how either of them continue at the pace they do.Endless hand shaking, changing clothes, travelling here and there, making speeches, trying to think of something to talk to complete strangers about. All that waving.I'm exhausted thinking about it.
The Guidlen morden Street party was a great success thanks to peter and his team and no doubt pictures will be appearing on here at somepoint of a certain minister sporting a Brittania outfit!
The Queens sense of duty to each one of us ,is a great reminder of the way we should be loyal to our God and king and in turn to one another.
The joint service we shared was a testament to our wish to work together in furthering God's kingdom. We all need each other.
God needs all of us to be working for him...............it is us who gives each other labels, not him.We are all his children.
So Hurrah to her Majesty, thank you for all your service to us and for your wonderful example................"a good and faithful servant"Oh that we can follow in the example you set.
3 cheers for her Majesty .........hip hip! hip hip!hip hip!
